On June 9, 2012, MULTICULTURAL MUSIC GROUP (MMG) will have an encore presentation of their successful musical program which took place at Pregones Theater in the Bronx, New York in 2009. MMG promotes social justice projects through music commissions created to depict, to resemble or to illustrate a historical event in a particular culture. Ray Santos, five-time Grammy Award winner and Academy Award Nominee for Best Song in a Motion Picture, will be presenting an original musical composition inspired by the Puerto Rican participation in the Korean Conflict. Don’t miss this performance if you love the big band sound! The activity includes the concert presentation of the commissioned work followed by a panel discussion. The film will not be presented, but filmmaker Noemi Figueroa Soulet and 65th veteran Eugenio Quevedo will be participating in the panel discussion. The event will begin at 8:00 pm at Pregones Theater, 571 Walton Avenue, Bronx, New York. For more information, visit www.multiculturalmusic.org or call (718) 884-5495. Click here to view the flyer.
