JULY 4, 2014 – PUERTO RICO TV BROADCASTS THE BORINQUENEERS at 11:30 AM & 7:30 PM

Puerto Rico TV will be re-broadcasting the documentary “Los Borinqueños” (“The Borinqueneers”) in Spanish beginning on July 4 and in subsequent showings for the next two years.  Puerto Rico TV can be seen in Channels 6.1 and 3.2, Liberty 6.1 and 206 (HD), Choice 3, Direct TV 166 and Dish 6. Puerto Rico TV is operated by the Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

To promote this broadcast, they will also have special programming. This Thursday, July 3, at 7 p.m., as a preamble to the broadcast of the documentary  “The Borinqueneers”, News 24/7 of Puerto Rico TV will present an interesting interview with the producer, director, and writer of the program, Noemí Figueroa Soulet.

This Friday on the Fourth of July, Puerto Rico TV will commemorate the occasion with special programming.  At 10am, live from the Puerto Rico State Department, viewers will be able to enjoy the Commemoration Events of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. This official ceremony will be dedicated to the 65th Infantry Regiment, who were honored this year by the U.S. Congress when legislation was passed to award them the Congressional Gold Medal, the most important civil honor.

At 11:30am, immediately upon the conclusion of the transmission of the protocol events, the Puerto Rico TV network will air “The Borinqueneers”, an excellent documentary produced by Noemí Figueroa Soulet, a Puerto Rican, that details the history of our 65th Infantry Regiment.

At 7:00 pm, News 24/7 will join the tribute, airing a special news program with interviews of the filmmaker of “The Borinqueneers” and of 4 distinguished members of “The Borinqueneers”: SFC Germán Bravo (Ret.), Pedro Santana Camacho (Silver Star recipient) (both whom are profiled in the film), José Vicente García (Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient) and Pablo Delgado Medina. The special program will be followed with a re-broadcast of “The Borinqueneers” at 7:30pm.
