NOV 7th, 2026 – FACEBOOK LIVE EVENT – PUERTO RICAN MILITARY GENEALOGY BASICS

Facebook Live Event ?

Do you have a family member who may have served with the legendary 65th Infantry Regiment, known as the Borinqueneers? Are you trying to confirm their military service but don’t know where to begin?
Over the years, I’ve received countless inquiries from families hoping to establish whether their loved ones served with the 65th Infantry Regiment. Some have military documents they don’t understand, while others have little more than family stories and photographs.

That’s why, in honor of Veterans Day, we’re hosting a special Facebook Live event: .

Tuesday, November 10, 2026
7:00 PM Eastern Time (EST)

I’ll be joined by SGT MAJ Eric Hunt-Benitez (Ret.), a military genealogist, who will share valuable guidance on:

Where to begin researching a veteran’s military service
How to locate records that may help confirm service with the 65th Infantry Regiment
How to decipher military documents and photographs
Using military history resources to trace a veteran’s service
Understanding military medals and awards

And while we’ll place special emphasis on researching Borinqueneer veterans, this presentation will be equally valuable to anyone interested in uncovering their Puerto Rican family’s military history.  Join us as we explore how to uncover, document, and preserve the military service of our loved ones. This Veterans Day, let’s honor their service by preserving their stories for future generations.

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 10th at 7 PM and please share this announcement with anyone searching for answers about a family member’s military service!  If you can’t make it, the Live Event will be recorded and available on our YouTube Borinqueneers channel after the event.
