Master Sgt. Vicente Medina-Torres of San Juan, PR was a World War II veteran who served in the Heavy Mortar Company during the Korean War. In 1951, Vicente was profiled in a Time Magazine article on the Korean War. He was killed on April 6, 1967 in a helicopter crash while serving in HHB, 8th Battalion, 6th Artillery, USARV in Vietnam. He was 42 years old and had served 22 years in the Army.
