Moises Rivera Gonzalez, 79, Resident of Casselberry, Florida and Brentwood Long Island, NY.

Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend went home with the Lord on September 18, 2010.  Free from earthy pain, he dwells now in glory.  We are certain a joyous reunion is taking place as he is being reunited with his loving wife and our beloved mother Rosa Maria Rivera.

Born in Humacao Puerto Rico, on June 20, 1931. Son of Augusto Rivera and Eugenia Gonzalez. He served his country with the US Army as a Medical Company 65th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Division, “Borinqueneers” of Puerto Rico.  He was our hero as a father and for serving in the front lines of the Korean War.

Army of Occupation of Germany Clasp
National Defense Service Medal
Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze stars service stars
Combat Medical Badge 1st award
United Nations Service Medal

He is survived by his 3 children Angel Rivera, Evelyn Corchado and Harry Rivera, seven grandchildren ( who loved him as ” Papa and Ito” ) great-grandchildren and many family members that loved him. He will be greatly missed. He was laid to rest in peace with Military Honors at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton LI New York.  Submitted by his son Angel Luis Rivera.
