Sept. 20, 2000 - Early morning departure of our mini-van from New York with Korean War veterans , their families and friends to attend a tribute to the 65th Inf. Regt. by the U.S. Army in Washington, DC.
A U.S. Army tribute to the 65th Inf. Regt. on the 50th Anniversary of their arrival to Korea took place at Arlington Cemetery.
The event was attended by hundreds, many of them Borinqueneer veterans.

Oct. 15, 2000 - An U.S. Army Tribute also took place on the grounds of El Morro Fortress in Old San Juan, PR.
Many Borinqueneers attended along with family and friends.
Oct. 16, 2000 - A presentation at the Arecibo Vet Center helped raise $200 and included the raffle of this painting by artist Edgar Vega (right). Thanks to our hosts Juan Freytes (Director) (left) and Elizabeth Ramos (Counselor) of the Vet Center.
April 20, 2001 - Noemi was invited to speak at the VA's Readjustment Counseling Conference regarding the service of the 65th Inf. Regt.
The conference educates veteran counselors about the service of minority soldiers and their challenges.

Sept. 30, 2001 - Our second fundraising benefit at the Julio de Burgos Cultural Center in East Harlem, NY helped us raise over $5,000. There was a screening of the work-in-progress.
