Staff Sgt. Carlos Betancourt-Mojica of Santurce, PR joined the Army from Jacksonville, NJ. During the Korean War, he served in Company F in 1952 where he received a Purple Heart. In the Vietnam War, he served in Co. A, 502nd Infantry Regt., 101st Airborne Div. On February 7, 1966 he was killed by hostile action from small arms fire at a battle at My Canh 2, Phu Yen province, South Vietnam. He was 36 years and had served for 14 years.
