SFC José R. Montalvo
He was born on July 27, 1924 in the town of Sabana Grande Puerto Rico.  He served with the 1st. Cavalry Division (1943 – 1945) during World War II assigned to the Theater of War in the Pacific where he got several awards including American Theater Services Medall, World War II Victory Medall, the Asiatic – Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and four Overseas Service Bars. From 1950 -1954, he was assigned to the 65th Infantry Rgt., Co. C. of the 3rd. Inf. Division in the Korean War where he also earned several more decorations:  the Combat Infantry Badge with one star, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, the United Nations Service Medal and two more Good Conduct Medals. He died on November 16, 1976 surrounded by his wife, sons and grandchildren.
