My great uncle CPL Ramon Brana Lago, from Salinas Puerto Rico , served in Charlie Company , 65th INF from 1942-1945 . Served in north Africa , France and saw action in the Rhineland. Passed away in 1988. So glad we have a site like this keeping the history alive of the 65th. I actually wrote about the 65th for my senior thesis in college and these resources helped me greatly . I wish the national infantry museum near fort benning Georgia and the 3rd ID museum in Stewart had more info on them. My Great Uncle’s service motivated me to join and still serve the US Army.

Look forward on submitting my uncle’s pics soon to share with all . Thank you

Editor’s Note:  We do not have a photograph of Pedro A. Deniza.  As far as we know, the military does not have a photo database of every single soldier that served.  But we are always posting new photos on a regular basis and maybe in the future, there might be one for Pedro.  Photos are usually submitted by veterans or their families and sometimes they can identify others who appear in a group shot.  Or sometimes we obtain photos from other sources and they are identified by name.  I’m sorry we can’t be of more help to you.  We suggest you check with family members to see if anyone has a photo of him.  May he rest in peace.

April 13th 2021 and forth will always be remembered as Boriqueneers day. A tribute to the brave men of the 65th Infantry Regiment who sacrificed their lives, dignity, family, and service to the United States Of America. May their spirits stay with with all of us and be remembered as our Puerto Rican heroes.

My grandfather was 2nd LT. William E. White Co. A 65th Regt. 3rd Div. He died in the battle of Jackson Heights on October 28th 1952. He was one of the officers in Co. A that died when a mortar landed during an officers meeting with 1st LT. Porterfield, LT. Glasgow and LT. Gibbs from Co. F. I recently received he letters he wrote home to my Grandmother. (She passed away January 2020) I have 1 or 2 pictures of him while in Korea and he describes in one of his letters about having is picture taken with a General that was the Assistant Division Commander. (Oct. 14, 1952) I’ve been trying to find the picture and in general, anyone that might have known him. Or even what platoon he was assigned.

Thank you to all those who have fought along side my Grandfather.
